Héros Studio

Position: Engineering Director

"Silence on Tourne" takes you into the adventurous life of the first French film director at the very beginning of the 20th century.

Passionate about theatre and initially an actor, André Calmettes ventures into directing one of the very first films in cinema history, which he titles "The Assassination of the Duke of Guise".

It is after discovering the wonders of the Lumière brothers’ cinématographe—a marvel no one believed in at the time—that he has the idea to harness this revolutionary invention by filming one of the world’s very first scripted movies.

A true pioneer and founding father of cinema as we know it today, our hero will stop at nothing to bring his project to life. His journey leads him to cross paths with legendary figures from theatre and early cinema, such as Sarah Bernhardt and Georges Méliès.

This short film was created by a passionate team of young filmmakers, who brought this forgotten chapter of cinema history back to life with creativity, dedication, and a deep love for storytelling.
